CreditDeals platform review October 2026
CreditDeals is a free comparison platform, not a lender. Its South Africa hub lets borrowers search R500 to R500,000 over 5 to 3,650 days, lists 59 products from 49 partners, and passes applicants to the lender, which makes the approval decision.
CreditDeals publishes no NCR registration number, which is consistent with it not being a credit provider. It says every listed lender is registered with the National Credit Regulator (NCR), but it shows no registration numbers, so a borrower should check the lender’s NCRCP number on the NCR register before signing. Affordability assessments and cost-of-credit disclosure under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005 (NCA) are the lender’s obligations, not the comparison site’s.

How does CreditDeals compare with other loan comparison platforms?
CreditDeals covers a wider product range than the two comparison platforms it is measured against here, MoneyHello and Binixo. Its hub compares short-term loans, personal loans and deposits, while MoneyHello and Binixo present loan offers only. All figures come from each platform’s own website.
| Feature | CreditDeals | MoneyHello | Binixo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business model | Comparison platform, not a lender | Comparison platform and lead generator, not a lender | Comparison platform, not a lender |
| Cost to borrower | Free | Free | Free |
| Products compared | Short-term loans, personal loans, deposits | Loan offers | Loan offers |
| Lenders listed | 49 partners, 59 products | Not stated on page | 4 partner logos on homepage |
| Loan amounts shown | R500–R500,000 (search widget) | R500–R25,000 (slider); up to R250,000 via partners | R1,000–R50,000 |
| Terms shown | 5–3,650 days (search widget) | 3–72 months | 91–120 days |
| Credit check by the platform | None: does not pull credit reports | Soft search; lender runs the final check | Soft inquiry generally; lender may run a hard inquiry |
| Support | Email, daily 9:00–21:00 | Contact form and email; hours not published | Email; hours not published |
The two competitors do better on cost disclosure. MoneyHello publishes a representative example on its homepage (R1,000 over 90 days costs R1,300 in total), and Binixo publishes a representative loan example and an annual rate range. CreditDeals shows only rate ranges, labelled “per day” in its ranking table while its conditions text cites a monthly cap, so the unit has to be confirmed with each lender. MoneyHello and Binixo also name their operating companies, which CreditDeals does not.
Pros and Cons of CreditDeals
✅ Pros
- Wide scope: 59 products from 49 partners, covering short-term loans, personal loans and deposits.
- Free for borrowers, with no charge for comparing or for placement in listings, according to CreditDeals.
- Broad search range: R500 to R500,000 over 5 to 3,650 days.
- Ratings set by editors on four named criteria, with promoted partners labelled separately.
- No credit report is pulled by CreditDeals, so browsing does not touch the credit record.
❌ Cons
- Not a lender: CreditDeals cannot approve, price or pay out a loan, and the terms come from the lender.
- Rates are shown as ranges with conflicting units (“per day” in the table, a monthly cap in the text) and no worked example.
- Referral fees from some lenders, with “Get money” buttons that run through affiliate tracking links.
- No company name, registration number or postal address published, and no phone line.
- Editorial scores come with no published weighting.
Which lenders does CreditDeals rate highest?
Those editorial scores feed a ranked table of short-term lenders. Letocredit leads at 4.6, listed at R500–R50,000 over 5–365 days, followed by CenturyZA at 4.5 (R500–R8,000 over 5–180 days) and Binixo at 4.5 (R1,000–R50,000 over 90–180 days). Jabulani Money scores 4.3 and CreditBar 4.0, listed at R500–R4,000 and R500–R5,000.
Amounts and terms are CreditDeals’ catalogue figures and can differ from each lender’s own site. The hub also lists bank personal loans, including Capitec up to R500,000, FNB up to R450,000 and Standard Bank up to R300,000.
How do you use CreditDeals to find a loan?
Using the ranking takes four steps, and the application itself happens on the lender’s site.
- Set an amount and term in the search widget, or open the loans hub.
- Compare each lender’s listed amounts, terms, rates and ratings, and check its NCR registration.
- Select the lender. The “Get money” button opens the lender through a CreditDeals tracking link, and the application is completed there with your SA ID number, contact details, amount and bank details.
- Wait for the lender’s decision, which CreditDeals says most lenders deliver within 5–15 minutes by SMS or email, and receive the money by EFT.
Who is CreditDeals suited to?
The four steps suit borrowers who want to see several lenders before committing. CreditDeals fits a borrower comparing South African short-term lenders who wants amounts, terms and editor ratings in one list, or who also wants to browse bank personal loans and deposits on the same site.
Borrowers who want a published worked cost example, a phone line, a named operating company or an application on the same site should look elsewhere. CreditDeals offers email support from 9:00 to 21:00 daily and sends applicants to the lender, while a direct lender such as CreditBar handles the whole application itself.
Requirements
- A 13-digit South African ID number.
- Your latest payslip or bank statements.
- Bank account details (branch code and account number).
- Proof of residence, a selfie for biometric verification and a mobile number for an OTP, where the lender asks for them.
- An affordability assessment by the lender under the NCA. CreditDeals does not guarantee approval.
If you miss a payment
- The loan agreement and the lender’s terms apply, not CreditDeals’.
- CreditDeals warns that late payments can add fees and damage a credit record.
- It directs borrowers in difficulty to the lender first, then to the NCR on 0860 627 627 or a registered debt counsellor.
- Consumers under debt review generally cannot take new credit under the NCA.
- Unresolved complaints about a lender can go to the NCR or the National Financial Ombud Scheme (NFO).
