ClickCredit is operated by Altera Digital Services (Pty) Ltd, company registration 2026/189260/07, holding NCR registration NCRCP23242. The number uses the correct NCRCP format for a credit provider, which is a better sign than it sounds: not every site in this market gets that right.

A new company means no track record. No HelloPeter page exists for ClickCredit, and no independent review history could be found anywhere at the time of writing. The five five-star testimonials on its homepage carry stock photographs and dates spread across early 2026, so treat them as marketing rather than evidence. Verify NCRCP23242 on the National Credit Regulator website before applying.

ClickCredit loan comparison

Three direct lenders dominate the R500 to R8,000 bracket in South Africa, and they differ more than their near-identical websites suggest.

ClickCredit is the only one of the three that publishes its interest rate and fee structure on the homepage. ClickCredit stands out for its transparent pricing, accepting applicants from age 18, and offering loans of up to R8,000, matching Kredio’s maximum and exceeding CreditBar’s limit. While CreditBar and Kredio advertise faster payouts, ClickCredit provides same-day payouts for applications submitted before the cut-off time. Its main advantage is clear information about rates and fees, helping borrowers understand the costs before applying.

ClickCredit loan interest rate

ClickCredit charges a daily interest rate, which makes comparison difficult until you convert it. New clients pay 0.16% per day, repeat clients 0.096% per day.

Over a 30-day month that works out to 4.8% for a first loan and 2.88% for a subsequent one. The National Credit Act caps short-term credit at 5% per month on a first agreement and 3% per month afterwards, so ClickCredit prices just below both ceilings. It is legal, and it is also close to the most a registered lender may charge.

Interest is only part of it. There is an initiation fee of 15% of the first R1,300 plus 10% of anything above that, plus VAT, and a service fee of R69 per month.

Here is a worked example ClickCredit does not publish. Borrow R2,000 for 30 days as a new client:

  • Interest: R2,000 at 0.16% per day equals R3.20 daily, so R96 over 30 days
  • Initiation fee: R195 on the first R1,300, plus R70 on the remaining R700, equals R265, plus VAT equals R304.75
  • Service fee: R69
  • Total cost of credit: R469.75. Total repayable: R2,469.75

That is roughly 23% of the amount borrowed, for one month. The fees cost more than three times the interest, which is typical of South African short-term credit and the reason a headline rate of 0.16% per day understates the real figure. Run your own numbers before you commit.

Loan application requirements

Six things are needed, and the list is shorter than most banks ask for:

  • Age 18 or older
  • South African citizen or permanent resident
  • An active personal bank account in your own name
  • A valid ID document or passport
  • Proof of income: a recent payslip or three months of bank statements
  • Proof of residence

Employment is not mandatory. ClickCredit states the decision rests on verifiable income and affordability rather than a job contract, which opens it to pensioners, domestic workers and self-employed applicants, and it runs dedicated pages for each. The bank account must be your own, since income is verified against it and repayments are collected from it by DebiCheck.

The ClickCredit online loan application runs through the website: register, complete the form, upload documents, confirm with an OTP. ClickCredit says a complete application takes a few minutes to a few hours to review, with payout the same business day if approved before the cut-off, or the next business day otherwise. Money arrives by EFT.

ClickCredit loan repayment

ClickCredit collects repayments through DebiCheck debit orders on the date specified in your loan agreement, usually aligned with your salary date. Manual EFT or card payments through the customer portal may also be available.

To activate DebiCheck, you must approve the debit order mandate through your bank’s SMS, app or USSD service within the specified timeframe. ClickCredit provides setup guides for Capitec, ABSA, Standard Bank, FNB and Nedbank, so make sure you complete the approval process on time.

Missed payments may be reported to credit bureaus and referred to collections. ClickCredit does not publicly specify its late payment fees or default interest, so confirm these costs before signing. Early repayment is permitted without a penalty, with future interest removed in line with applicable National Credit Act requirements, although the initiation fee remains payable.

Who should consider ClickCredit?

ClickCredit may suit borrowers aged 18 or older with verifiable income who need R500 to R8,000 for a short-term expense and can repay the loan within 40 days. Its published rates and fees, along with a staffed phone line, make it easier to understand the borrowing terms before applying.

However, borrowers who need more time to repay may prefer Kredio, which offers terms of up to 61 days. ClickCredit may also be unsuitable if you cannot comfortably afford the total borrowing cost, which is approximately R470 on a R2,000 loan under the example provided, or if you prefer a lender with a more established, independently verifiable track record.
